Job Description:

Process all payment methods in accordance with Accounting procedures and policies. Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures (e.g., blind drops). Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping bank secure at all times. Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank. Transport bank to/from assigned workstation. Set up and organize cashier workstation with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials; and maintain cleanliness of workstation at all times. Complete opening duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, including bank, and ensuring everything is in working order.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Job Requirements:

  • Attention to Detail: Cashiers should have a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy when handling cash and processing transactions. They need to be able to identify any discrepancies or errors and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are important for Cashiers to interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. They should be able to clearly communicate pricing information, promotions, and other relevant details to customers. Additionally, good listening skills are important to understand customer needs and requests accurately.
  • Basic Numerical Skills: Cashiers should have basic numerical skills to accurately handle cash transactions. They should be able to count money, provide correct change, and perform basic calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills are essential for Cashiers. They should have a friendly and courteous demeanor, be able to greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide assistance as needed. Cashiers should be able to handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and effectively.
    Integrity and Trustworthiness: Cashiers handle money and are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and security of cash transactions. Employers look for individuals who demonstrate integrity and trustworthiness in handling cash and following cash-handling procedures to prevent theft or fraud.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Many cashier positions involve the use of electronic cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems. Cashiers should have basic computer skills to operate the system, process transactions, and handle other related tasks such as scanning barcodes, entering discounts, or issuing receipts.
