Job Description:

Technical responsibility for systems and people to ensure that vessels are well maintained, seaworthy and certified by international bodies or flag states. Analysis, recommendations and oversight of purchase or new build of vessels for Maritime Cluster.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support maintenance or performance improvement initiatives
  • Develop technical inspections and audits across the cluster to ensure proper governance
  • Suggesting technical KPIs for technical team
  • Support to develop innovative programs to motivate the workforce to participate and engage in HSE.
  • Support implementing HSE Strategis/programs to be implemented at global level.
  • Performance Management of the job holder’s direct reports
  • Actively participate in Review, & enhancement of organization structure for the Cluster throughout its development to best utilize human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
  • Implementation of processes and systems to ensure that technical staff maintain vessels in accordance with class, insurance and operational requirements.
  • Technical business plan analysis providing recommendations and market insights.
  • Purchase or new build technical oversight.
  • To strategically develop a fleet plan for future business
  • Budget planning and disbursement control across the fleet.
  • Major project (Repair and Dry docking) monitoring in coordination with technical management.
  • Technical leadership with shore technical teams and engineers on board
  • Supporting BU’s from an advisory perspective on all new services and projects where marine assets are to be used.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience managing deep sea and small fleet an advantage.
  • Multi -asset class maintenance experience
  • Minimum 15 years industry experience
  • Good Diplomatic and Managerial skills and project planning
  • Well experienced in ship equipment maintenance and must be fully aware of equipment operation concept.
  • Commercial vessel across multiple segments. Must be comfortable working across offshore, shipping and small vessel types.
  • New Build Managment
  • Dry-Docking
  • Maintenance systems and procedures technical SOP’s
  • Well versed on shipyard’s work process and procedures for specific task
  • Commercially minded with performance for experiences implementing total cost of ownership program
  • New Build Managment
  • Minimum Class 2 Marine Engineer or naval architect degree qualified
  • Further industry qualifications
  • Well versed on vessel’s Class survey cycle and other Governing bodies requirements
  • Written and Spoken English.
  • Practical experience at sea, shipyard or vessel docking experience required.
  • Minimum 10 years at Technical Manager with board knowledge on vessel class requirements, Maintenace, equipment repairs and dry docking
