Job Description:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, managing educational technology resources, and supporting the efficient operation of IT systems at GEMS International School Al Khail. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a productive and technology-enhanced learning environment for students, teachers, and staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inventory, and maintenance of educational technology equipment, such as laptops, computers, ipads, interactive whiteboards.
  • Install, configure, and update software applications and educational tools.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to align technology initiatives with educational goals.
  • Foster a culture of technology innovation and integration.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive student and staff information.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Provide timely technical support to students, staff and administrators for hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems promptly.
  • Offer guidance on best practices for technology usage.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in IT support or educational technology roles
  • Preferred.Experience of MacOs and hardware desirable
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience, preferably in an educational context
  • Knowledge of educational software and learning management systems.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
