Job Description:

Dubai Holding is looking to hire a Manager – Statutory Reporting and General Ledger responsible for journal entry, intercompany, general ledger reconciliation, and statutory reporting activities at Group Services (GS), the newest business unit at Dubai Holding The role will also support the Director – Statutory Reporting and GL in enabling value creation within the DH GS Finance sub-function through continuous improvement and optimisation of existing processes. The role will lead the team to foster customer centricity and service excellence, aligned to the DH GS shared vision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review reconciliation of trial balance accounts for the accounting period including addressing discrepancies.
  • Monitor account closure governance activities for all financial activities, across monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual accounts closure.
  • Provide day-to-day management and supervision to direct reports and support them in achieving their operational objectives.
  • Monitor upskilling and continuous development initiatives within one’s own team in line with the capability requirement and service priorities of the DH GS finance function.
  • Foster a customer centric and service mindset culture within one’s own team, encouraging innovation and high performance.
  • Manage the integration of the latest regulatory developments into existing DH GS finance statutory reporting process.
  • Ensure preparation and review of the DH entities standalone statutory reports and associated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and submit for review of relevant vertical finance stakeholders.
  • Ensure preparation and review of consolidated statutory reports and associated financial statements for all DH entities and submit for review of vertical finance stakeholders.
  • Support financial audits by sharing relevant information and providing clarifications as required to regulatory stakeholders and auditors.
  • Monitor and guide internal teams on period close sub-ledgers and the general ledger activities.
  • Review monthly GL and intercompany reconciliation activities, review insights from the nature of balances and ensure reconciliation reports are published.
  • Interface and work with all functions to ensure all period related expenses and related accruals, prepayments, provisions, other debit & credit balances are accurate.
  • Monitor internal team to ensure adherence to processes, guidelines, and protocols for journal entry, intercompany, general ledger reconciliation and statutory reporting activities in line with set standards and protocols delivering on agreed SLAs.
  • Support the Director – Statutory Reporting and GL in tracking and meeting key performance indicators, identifying operational gaps in meeting team goals and guiding internal teams to help achieve it.
  • Support the Director – Statutory Reporting and GL in reviewing the finance function activities and managing internal teams in the implementation of improvements within the statutory reporting function process workflows.
  • Review preparation and publishing of periodic reports including monthly / quarterly / annual reports Prepare and review any additional ad-hoc reporting requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce / business administration (Finance).
  • Strong understanding of GL function is preferable.
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and regulations is preferable.
  • Experience working in a finance shared services is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in finance function, with at least 2 years of experience in leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of Finance function and processes.
  • Experience working in the Middle East region is preferred.
  • Additional qualifications such as ACCA or ACA.
