Job Description:

Meet the Recovery Plan for the year and ensure that the recovery team contributions help achieve Credit Cost numbers. Ensure that expense plans are met for the unit.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop team leaders/managers reporting to self. Ensure that staff are trained and developed to set standards and their performance is regularly assessed.
  • Ensure that the TEAM and the Centre understand the importance of Customer Experience and Treating customer fairly and ensure awareness and alignment to that and the SPIRIT values of Mashreq.
  • To ensure that all collector Mashreq and Agency are aware of the Customer Contact Guidelines / Code of Conduct and uphold the same during all interactions with customers. To ensure that customers are treated with respect and treated fairly by the collectors in the team.
  • Ensure awareness of the relevant CPR guidelines and ensure adherence to the same as appropriate for Self and the team managed
  • Monitor and report activity by regular performance and activity reports including forecasting.
  • Work with HR, Technology, Training, Operation and enabling the teams that are at the COE to work effectively
  • Manage Bank’s relationship with various third-party service providers, as needed.
  • Ensure that processes are periodically reviewed and RCSA and submitted on time, while ensuring that controls are being periodically tested and found to be effective.
  • Review capacity and staffing plans and ensure that adequate capacity is in place and provisions in place to manage and retain talent. Ensuring a robust incentive plan in place, learning and development programs in place.
  • Manage and ensure employee engagement is high not only within the unit but also across the Centre and the various collection teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Technical expertise, gained through ‘on the job’ experience
  • Knowledge of personal banking products and services
  • Good numerical skills
  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience
  • University graduate
  • In depth working knowledge of collection and recovery practices, by practical experience in the credit operations or collection and recovery department.
  • Systems and procedures used in the management of large, central operations.
  • Team & People management skills
  • Understanding of the international aspect and implications of debt collection, tracing and agency management structures.
