Job Description:

Provide strategic guidance and advice on the development of corporate HSE Risk Management strategies in order to eliminate, reduce, transfer risks, and/or to recover systems and resume business critical processes and activities for ADNOC Group Companies. Oversee the development and provide advice on updates to risk management framework and procedures as per the ADNOC Codes of Practice and applicable international standards and monitor the implementation of effective risk mitigation and controls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and monitor implementation of recommendations/guidelines as determined by other ADNOC Units such as Risk Management, Audit, Legal and Insurance Groups.
  • Develop proposals and make recommendations for risk mitigation and recovery measures and communicate to the Group Companies following Management approval.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
  • Participate in risk assessment studies and workshops such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), Hazard Identification Studies (HAZID), Project Health Safety & Environment Review (PHSER), Risk Assessment, Layout Review, Safety Integrity Level (SIL), Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) etc. and solicits input and feedback for establishing appropriate risk controls.
  • Provide guidance for capital project reviews for process risks including in-depth risk studies conducted by third parties for facilities lifecycle assessment from conceptual design through commissioning and operations phases for ADNOC Group of companies.
  • Ensure up to date HSE risk management/ technical input is available for Group Companies as required, on issues involving process safety, risk engineering, fire protection systems, hazard management, and critical process related equipment reviews.
  • Supervise preparation and review of progress reports to ADNOC Senior Management on the status of risk management plans/activities.
  • Provide support and input to Technical Safety Engineers (Projects), Loss Prevention Engineer and HSEIA Engineers in matters related to risk and safety engineering/ studies/ reviews/ risk based Loss Prevention design (in the fields of fire protection, fire and gas detection, hazardous area).
  • Coordinate risk training/awareness sessions for relevant stakeholders on Risk Management as required.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Management to fully contribute to the wide range of unit activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Frequent contacts with UAE/Abu Dhabi regulators, governmental agencies and ADNOC shareholders International Organizations/Institutions for HSE regulations and standards
  • Minimum Qualification
  • 12 years of experience in similar Risk Management, Process/Operational safety role in petrochemical environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent discipline with Risk Management Specialization.
