Job Description:
Reporting to Senior Management, the job holder will be responsible to positively impact the safety culture through behaviour based systems approach ensuring effective employee care and reduced loss time injury frequency rate. The job holder will manage safety at Airside and end to end return to work program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise with external bodies including the local enforcement authority, airport authorities, safety auditors, insurance auditors, airline officials etc.
- Evaluate and channelize decision on accident and incident investigations with departmental managers and Safety committee representatives
- Identify training needs across the organization based on new safety system requirements and to develop a plan on competency and skill development.
- Work closely with Senior Management to Develop a framework of annual OHS objectives, KPIs and ensure its achievement. Monitor and report OHS based metrics that drive functional and business performance improvements. Accountable for the provision of monthly OHS reports to EKFC leadership & the Board with mitigation plans and recommendations.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Return to Work management system which includes a successful integration of RTW programs in operational thus reducing the Loss Time Injuries cases.
- Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring safety management system EKFC after obataining Senior Management approval.
- Responsible for working with Sr. Management in driving change in attitude and behaviour of employees towards safety so as to partner with line managers in minimizing occurrence of unsafe acts or risk taking behaviours especially reducing substantially the loss time injury.
- Coordinate worker training in areas such as hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment
- Ensure timely reporting of accidents, hazards, inspections, audits, accidents, hazard along with assessment of risk and recommendations on physical/behavioural improvement and controls.
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practice
- Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture
- Guide the Safety Assistant team in conducting comprehensive inspections of all our facilities and operations to ensure compliance with required safety standards.

- To apply best practices and to remain up to date within the latest developments in the Health and Safety field through self-research, membership of appropriate professional body and attendance at courses and seminars as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Must have experience of working with integrated safety management system
- Years of Experience:Minimum of 5 years
- Area of Experience:
- Must have experience of working with integrated safety management system
- Experience from construction, manufacturing, transport, logistics, and aviation, industrial catering will be an advantage

- Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels in a diverse environment.
- Should have knowledge of local and federal safety regulations. Should have the ability to develop and present programs and/or workshops
- High standard of verbal and written skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety/a related field or an equivalent qualification
- Previous knowledge or experience in performing audits and compilation of reports advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in leading safety change management program.
- Practical experience in injury management
